Radiation Protection Evaluations Following the Installations of Two Cardiovascular Digital X-ray Fluoroscopy Systems

Acceptance testing and commission are essential elements of the quality assurance program for imaging equipment. We present results a performance evaluation Flat Panel-Based Cardiovascular Fluoroscopy X-ray Systems as part acceptance commissioning. Measurements were obtained using calibrated dose rate meter, patient equivalent phantoms, Leeds image test tools. The compared with manufacturer European acceptability criteria. entrance surface air kerma (ESAK) ranged from 8.0 to 12.0 mGy min−1 in continuous mode 0.01 0.04 fr−1 pulsed operation. Detector-input rates 0.29 0.39 0.02 0.07 µGy mode. device half-value layer (HVL) 2.5 3.0 mm Al, low resolution 0.9 1.3%. spatial limit was double that intensifier (2.4 3.6) lp/mm.
